English: Kondaparthy, also called Kondaparti or Komdaparti-nagare in historic texts, was a pre-12th century town, but was reduced to a village during the Deccan Sultanate era.

The village's antiquity is evidenced by two inscriptions found midst the temple ruins. These describe a "Chaunda-samudra" – a water reservoir – being completed by King Ganapati (Kakatiya) for the benefit of the villagers here, as well as a gift to the temple. The "Chaunda" is the name of the general who was settled here, and who worked for king Ganapati. The inscription (c. 1203 CE) says that the temple's shikhara had gold foil, inlaid with gems and its Kalasha at the very top was of gold. That shikhara is lost. The inscription also says that the Shiva temple had life-like sculpture so well executed that visitors often confuse them to be real persons. These, if true, are also lost.

The second major inscription is from 1241 CE. It declares the completion of a trikuta temple in Kondaparthy (likely above), one shrine for Shiva, one for Kesava (Vishnu) and one for Prolesvara. It also mentions gift of land to support these temples, but the gift was made by a "Kata of Malyala family". Thus, this temple was dedicated to Shaivism and Vaishnavism together, something seen in many parts of India between the 7th and 13th century. The inscription further states that the Shikara (superstructure) of this trikuta temple was also topped with a golden Kalasha and blue stone structure (now all gone).

The village of Kondaparthy has been a source of many finely carved statues of goddesses and gods, as well secular scenes. These include Shaiva, Vaishnava (e.g. Dasavatara) and Shakti themes (e.g. Saptamatrikas). These mutilated ruins were found in 19th and 20th-centuries, littered and scattered round the village, some by farmers as they tilled their land.
