English: Commonly referred to as "spinifex", Triodia is a genus of grass having spike-shaped blades. Spinifex also refers to a distinctive texture in some volcanic rocks: elongated blade-shaped to spike-shaped crystals of olivine and pyroxene. Spinifex texture occurs in komatiites, which are very rare, magnesium-rich, ultramafic, extrusive igneous rocks.
