Description
עברית: קרונית 841 (לשעבר 741) שמורה היום במוזיאון הרכבת. קרונית זו היא אחת מסדרה ארוכה של עשרות קרוניות דומות שרכשה רכבת ישראל מחברת Fairmont האמריקאית מתחילת שנות ה-50 ועד תחילת שנות ה-80, במגוון דגמים. רבות מהן הגיעו לארץ ללא גוף ובארץ הותאם להן גוף שייצרה הרכבת בעצמה. את הגוף הראשון של קרונית 741 אפשר לראות בתוכנית המיתולוגית 'הופה היי' בפרק על רכבת ישראל. זה היה עיצוב של גוף בו נעשה שימוש בכמה וכמה קרוניות. הגוף הנוכחי, המרובע, של קרונית זו הוא משנות ה-90 והיה יחיד במינו. לעומתו, הגוף שקיבלה הקרונית התאומה 742/842 בשנות ה-90 היה דווקא מסוג שהותקן במספר קרוניות של מוסך לוד באותה תקופה, וכונה במקור 'צפרירית' על שם מנכ"ל הרכבת צפרירי, בתקופתו נבנה הגוף הראשון בסגנון זה, כעשור לפני. שתי הקרוניות האלו סופקו בשנת 1974 ושתיהן שמורות במוזיאון הרכבת.
  • קרוניות 985-987 הן חלק מסדרה זהה של 8 קרוניות שסופקו יחדיו בשנת 1998 וזכו למספרים 981-988. הן היו הקרוניות האחרונות של רכבת ישראל שקיבלו מספר לפי שנת הרכישה שלהן. הראשונה היתה 701.
