Description
English: Monument and information board in the Church park (Kirkeparken) outside Tromsø Cathedral (in Norwegian Tromsø domkirke) in central Tromsø, Norway. Bust of composer Adolf Thomsen by sculptor Trygve thorsen 1943, unveiled 1946. Text on pillar: "Adolf Thomsen 1852–1903" and "Å eg veit meg eit land" (first line and notes of Elias Blix' popular hymn "Barndomsminne frå Nordland"). North wall and side entrance of "Tromsø domkirke", a wooden Lutheran cathedral built in 1861 and designed by architect architect Christian Heinrich Grosch in a long church format and the Gothic Revival style.
