Description
Nederlands: Kom. Kom van kalebas met geschilderde versiering en tekst: "Hetgeen God zamenvoegd, kunnen de menschen nooit scheiden".

Zulke kalebasjes werden als decoratie opgehangen door creolen aan de kust en in Paramaribo.

Dergelijke kommetjes worden toegeschreven aan voormalige plantageslaven uit de kuststreek. Er bestaan ook deels door Bosnegers, deels door creolen vervaardigde exemplaren welke dus echt bi-culturele voorwerpen zijn. De binnenkant werd dan vaak voorzien van traditionele Bosnegermotieven, terwijl op de buitenkant allerlei voorstellingen uit Paramaribo en de kust werden weergegeven (Price, 1980:156-157; 1999:218).. Kalebas kom met een geschilderde voorstelling van twee armen die elkaar de hand schudden
