Size: 7.1 x 2.6 x 2.2 cm.
Tsaregorodtsevite is a VERY STRANGE and UNIQUE mineral that is made up of AMMONIA with nitrogen, and an aluminosilicate compound. I recall when Fersman Museum started selling their extras in 1991, this was one of the most coveted of all rare species that came out the doors from their various expeditions. I got some directly at the time from curator Dmitriy Belakovskiy, who has himself been to this remote location on at least one expedition. I got this from him a few years ago because he remembered I liked them, and have forgotten to sell it ever since unfortunately. I have owned several over the years, and I can say this is a very good and different specimen because it actually has some display aesthetics that most lack. Two pseudocubic crystals, to 4 mm, are set on the side of a glassy, water-clear quartz crystal, which is heavily included with chlorite. There are also a couple of tiny anatase crystals, on the same side, below the tsaregorodtsevites. The quartz termination is lightly bruised, but is certainly not a detraction to this RARE combo piece. Found in ONE locality, worldwide.
