Description
Español: Tunel de Montefurado - Quiroga - Lugo. Los romanos construyeron este túnel en el siglo II, en los tiempos del Emperador Trajano, para desviar el cauce del río, y poder así extraer el oro que este arrastraba lavando el lodo de la antigua cuenca. Tiene unos 400 m. de largo por 19 de ancho y una altura media de 17 m. Una difícil obra de ingeniería para la época. Se dice que los romanos talaron el bosque de encinos que había en un pueblo cercano que todavía conserva el topónimo de Enciñeira para romper la roca a fuego.
