Phase of the characteristic impedance of a typical RG-59 coaxial transmission line with a good (high resistivity) dielectric insulator in degrees.

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Phase of the characteristic impedance of a typical RG-59 coaxial transmission line with a good (high resistivity) dielectric insulator in degrees. Phase varies from nearly 0° at high frequency to -45° at low frequency and back to 0° near DC. The transition between near DC and low frequency is controlled by the series resistance of the conductors and the bulk resistivity of the dielectric, which has been taken to be approximately 10¹⁵ Ω-cm for this example.
