| Description |
English: UBMD Internal Medicine & Pediatrics, 300 Linwood Avenue at West Utica Street, Buffalo, New York, December 2021. The International Style design of this one-story brick office building places it distinctly at odds with its late-19th century neighbors in the Linwood Historic District, yet it's a textbook example of the style: low and sprawling massing, a preponderance of sleek lines and right angles, minimal exterior ornamentation, floor-to-ceiling windows. The building has always housed medical offices; it was constructed in 1956 and originally served as home to the Victor Clinical Laboratory, a medical testing laboratory with attached pharmacy that was operated by Dr. Victor Dozoretz, who also worked as an instructor at the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy. Still today the building is affiliated with the university, serving as the office of UBMD Internal Medicine & Pediatrics. |
