Description

A U.S. Navy Kaman UH-2A Seasprite (BuNo 149744) of Helicopter Combat Support Squadron 1 (HC-1) Det. G "Pacific Fleet Angels" takes off from the carrier USS Forrestal (CVA-59) in the Gulf of Tonkin in aftermath of the fire on board during operations in the Gulf of Tonkin. HC-1 Det. G was assigned to Carrier Air Wing 16 (CVW-16) aboard the aircaft carrier USS Oriskany (CVA-34) for a deployment to Vietnam from 16 June 1967 to 31 January 1968.

149744 was later converted to an SH-2F and crashed aboard USS Voge (FF-1047) off Jacksonville, Florida (USA), on 17 July 1984 while in service with Light Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron 32 (HSL-32).
