Summary[edit]

Description
English: "The end of leading Germans and members of the Nasjonal Samling (NS, Norwegian fascist party)." A series of photos of former Nazi leaders and collaborators in German occupied Norway during World War II showing them at the end of the war or after the liberation in 1945: 9. The car of Karl Marthinsen, the Norwegian commander of the Nazi controlled Statspolitiet (National Police), assassinated in his car by a Norwegian resistance group on February 8th, 1945.
Norsk bokmål: «Ledende tyskere og NS-folks død. 9: General Marthinsens bil etter attentatet.» viser bilen til Karl Marthinsen, sjef for det nazikontrollerte Statspolitiet i Norge og medlem av Nasjonal Samling under andre verdenskrig, som ble skutt og drept i sin egen bil i et attentat 8. februar 1945. Etter likvidasjonen ble det iverksatt omfattende represalier, og til sammen 28 personer ble henretta som en direkte følge av mordet på Marthinsen.
