Deutsch: USN 148 am Haken vom Schwimmkran Langer Heinrich im Ship Repair Department, Bremerhaven. 1942 bei Abeking & Rasmussen für die Kriegsmarine gebaut, fuhr das R-Boot als R99 in der 8. Räumbootflottille. Ab 1945 wurde es im Deutschen Minenräumdienst eingesetzt. Es wurde am 26. November 1947 von den USA beschlagnahmt und diente ab 1948 der Labor Service Unit (C) als US 23 Panther. Ab 15. September 1953 diente es dem Labour Service Unit B (LSU-B) als USN 148. Am 30. Oktober 1956 kam es als Algol zur Bundesmarine.
English: USN 148 on the hook of the floating crane Langer Heinrich in the Ship Repair Department, Bremerhaven. Built in 1942 at Abeking & Rasmussen for the Kriegsmarine, the R-boat sailed as R99 in the 8th Räumbootflottille. From 1945 it was used in German Mine Clearance Service. It was confiscated by the United States on November 26, 1947, and served as the Labor Service Unit (C) from 1948 as the US 23 Panther. As of September 15, 1953, it served as USN 148 for the Labor Service Unit B (LSU-B). On October 30, 1956, it returned to the German Navy (Bundesmarine) as Algol. |
