English: The U.S. Navy destroyer escort USS Buckley (DE-51), following her conversion to a radar picket ship, circa in late 1945. Note her newly-fitted 127mm/38 main battery guns, the mainmast, carrying the SP radar and the unusually large hull numbers. Buckley was decommssioned on 3 July 1946 and was redesignated DER-51 between 26 April 1949 and 29 September 1954, while being in reserve. |
