Description GULF OF ADEN (Feb. 3, 2015) -- Rear Adm. Eric Chaperon (center), Commander, French Maritime Reaction Force, speaks with Capt. Tim Schorr (left), Commander, Amphibious Squadron Eight, and Col. Scott Benedict (left), commanding officer, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), on the bridge of the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7). Iwo Jima is the flagship for the Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and, with the embarked 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), provides a versatile, sea-based expeditionary force that can be tailored to a variety of missions in the U.
