Summary[edit]

Description
English: There are not many plants that are considered rare in the plant world, but the Udumbara flower is one of the rarest.
According to some cultures, this flower has a symbolic meaning and blooms only once in a thousand years. Let's discuss more about the beauty of the Udumbara flower and its meaning.

Udumbara flowers, or Ficus racemosa, are plants from the Moraceae family that usually grow in South and Southeast Asia.

"Udumbara" comes from Sanskrit, and means "heavenly flower". In some Buddhist traditions, legend says that the blooming of the Udumbara flower is a sign of the arrival of a Dharma King (Just King).
