Description
The Morsø was built by McIntyre & Co. in Paisley (Yard no. 101), launched in July 1883 and delivered in October 1883 to the steamship company Morsø af 1883 in Aalborg, Denmark. In 1884, the ship was taken over by D.F.D.S. and registered in Copenhagen. In 1885 she was at Burmeister & Wain in Copenhagen and fitted with a closed upper deck. In December 1921 the Morsø was laid up in Copenhagen. In March 1922 she was sold to Zwift Handels- und Schiffahrts GmbH, Hamburg and renamed the Friesland. In 1925 sold to Alfred Homuth, Hamburg and became the Russland. Last owners, in 1926, were the Deutsche Vieh-Seetransport GmbH., Altona, who named her Transport I. Scrapped in 1928.
