English: 'A soldier in a red beret', by Frans van Mieris the Elder, painted in 1667. This painting was part of the collections of the Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister in Dresden and and it has been missing since the end of World War II, in 1945.

Laut seiner Ersterwähnung im Inventar 1722–1728 der Königlichen Galerie war das Bild vor 1723 von der Kunstkammer zur Gemäldesammlung im Dresdner Schloss überwiesen worden. Im Jahr 1812 war es gemäß des Galeriekatalogs von Johann Anton Riedel in der Äußeren Galerie – den der nordalpinen Malerei vorbehaltenen Räumen – des Galeriegebäudes am Neumarkt ausgestellt. Später kam es auch im 1855 eröffneten Museumsbau von Gottfried Semper am Zwinger zur Aufstellung. Im Zweiten Weltkrieg wurde es in der Meißner Albrechtsburg und im Kalksteinbruch Pockau-Lengefeld ausgelagert. Es gehört zu den Werken, die seit 1945 vermisst werden.
