Description
Español: El lienzo representa a una mártir cristiana en tiempos del emperador Diocleciano, que persiguió a los cristianos. El cuerpo de la mártir está cubierto con una túnica blanca, tendido sobre un potro de tortura, con los pies y las muñecas atadas mediante cordeles. A los pies de la víctima, se encuentra el tajo con el hacha ensangrentada. Esta obra se inspira en los maestros españoles del siglo XVII, de tendencia tenebrista. En el reverso del lienzo está escrita la siguiente inscripción: "Una Martir en tiempo de Diocleciano / José Mª Rodrig. Lozada."
