Description

United 935 arrives from London Heathrow.

It is difficult to believe, but this particular United Airlines branding has been obsolete since 1997, and the Battleship Gray livery itself has been obsolete since February 2004. Yet so many United aircraft had remained in Battleship Gray well into 2011. But with the Continental merger and the accelerated repaint of the United fleet, that is no longer the case; in fact, N229UA is the very last active United aircraft that still wears the Battleship Gray.

Despite the obsolete livery (which could now qualify as a retro livery), the aircraft is all modern; not only has it received the Suite Dreams upgrades including lie-flat business class seats and AVOD in every seat, but it also features a dedicated pilot rest area, as noted by the 20xx nose number, and a feature shared only with five other United 777s.

As it turns out, this was also the final revenue flight for a Battleship Gray aircraft; this aircraft was sent to Victorville and repainted into the Disco Ball the next day.
