Summary

[edit]
Description

A distant, partial glimpse at the third Boeing 787 delivered to United Airlines, N26902.

This aircraft had been delivered only 3 days prior, arriving directly from Boeing's widebody assembly plant in Everett on delivery flight United 6852.

While the first two 787s in the United fleet, N20904 and N26906, are running temporary domestic hub-to-hub flights (N26906 would arrive from Houston at dusk), N26902 has not flown since the delivery flight, and will most likely enter revenue service when the 787 is temporarily placed on the Houston-Amsterdam route in early December for the very first United 787 international service.

While this aircraft is actually older (Line Number 50, before 53 and 77 for N20904 and N26906 respectively), its first flight had taken place less than three weeks prior.

Boeing has done away with customer codes starting with the 787. This makes this aircraft's model number the 787-8, as opposed to 787-822 (United Airlines code) or 787-824 (Continental Airlines code, since Continental had ordered and configured this aircraft prior to merging with United).
