| Description |
English: The United Oil Refinery in Warren, Pennsylvania, as seen from near the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and Maple Street in August 2022. Among the world's oldest extant oil refineries, United Refining was founded in 1902 in what was then the hotbed of the American petroleum industry. It was acquired in 1981 by New York businessman John Catsimatidis and folded into the Red Apple Group, of which he is the CEO. Today, with a capacity of 70,000 barrels a day, it's the exclusive supplier of fuel for the Kwik Fill and Country Fair chains of gas stations whose locations are scattered throughout Upstate New York, western Pennsylvania, and Northeast Ohio. |
