Summary[edit]

Description
Nederlands: De Marine Luchtvaartdienst (MLD) ontving het vaandel op 17 juli 1964. Het doek is rond 1989 vervangen.

De opschriften zijn:

Nederlands-Indië 1941-1942;
Indische Oceaan 1942-1945;
Noordzee 1941-1942;
Normandië 1944.
Aan het vaandel is de Militaire Willems-Orde vastgemaakt.

De MLD werd in 1917 opgericht. Na een roemrijk bestaan ging in 2005 een belangrijke component hiervan, de Groep Maritieme Patrouillevliegtuigen, ter ziele. 3 jaar later ging het resterende gedeelte, de Groep Helikopters, op in het Defensie Helikopter Commando (DHC). Daarmee verloor de MLD zijn zelfstandige status. Sindsdien beheert de groepsoudste Maritieme Luchtvaart Component van het DHC het vaandel.
