Description
Svenska: Tobaksfabrikören John Swartz d. y. var värd cirka 30 miljarder kronor i dagens penningvärde då han 1842 lät bygga sitt palats vid Norrköpings ström. Arkitekt och byggmästare var stadsarkitekten Carl Theodor Malm. Swartz hade inte alls tänkt sig att låta allmänheten fortsätta gå på den gata man gått sedan medeltiden. Men stadens styre, andra framstående män, lät honom inte bygga utan att samtidigt tillskapa det här valvet. Det finns där sedan dess och kallas i folkmun Swartziska valvet.
