Summary[edit]
DescriptionVarious applications of nanotechnology in the agriculture sector.webp |
English: In recent years, a great deal of superior visual recognition bio and nanosensors have been employed for the detection of several composites from a vast array of samples. The range of composites covers several metal ions, proteins, pesticides, antibiotics to the detection of complete microorganisms, and nucleic acid amplification and sequencing. Apart from monitoring the agricultural-controlling process and residues, other potential applications of nanotechnology have also been surfaced in the last two decades. The imperative benefits for engaging nanotechnology in the improvement of the agriculture sector include nanomaterials-assisted delivery of growth promoters, nutrition (especially micronutrients) as well as genetic modifications in plants. Additionally, various pesticides in form of nanofungicides, nanobacteriocides as well as nanoinsecticides have been also found to be employed. Furthermore, other benefits of nanotechnology include nanomaterials-based remediation, nanoherbicides] as well as uses in bioprocessing, aquaculture, post-harvest technology, veterinary care, fisheries, and seed-technology. All these applications together show various advantages like reduced pollution (mainly soil and water), reduction in related costs of environmental protection, and enhanced nutrient use efficiency |
