Description
English: Victor’s stele with portrait of Kornelios the Corinthian. According to the architrave inscription the monument was dedicated by two sons, the pythaules L. Kornelios Korinthos in honor of their father Loukios Kornelios Korinthos who was successful in many musical competitions. His victories are recorded by inscriptions within the carved wreaths (shields for the Aspis in Argos) above and below the portrait. From the Northeast Gate of the Hexamilion Wall. Mid 2nd c. A.D. Accession Number: ΙΣ 69-1. Archaeological Museum of Isthmia, Corinthia, Greece. Text: Museum Inscription.
