Summary[edit]

Description
English: The temple on the top of the Acropolis is the Parthenon. The front side of the temple faces West. The temple was dedicated to the worship of Athena, goddess of wisdom. Athens was named after her and it was Athena's sacred city. The architects of the Parthenon were Ictinus and Callicrates. The temple, dates back tot he 5th cent. B.C.
