Description
English: View of the flight deck of the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVAN-65), looking forward from abreast the island from the port ide of the flight deck. Enterprise, with assigned Carrier Air Wing 14 (CVW-14), was deployed to the Western Pacific and Vietnam from 17 September 1974 to 20 May 1975. Visible aircraft include:
  • a Sikorsky SH-3D Sea King of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron 2 (HS-2) "Golden Falcons";
  • a Ling-Temco-Vought A-7E Corsair II of Attack Squadron 27 (VA-27) "Royal Maces";
  • Three Grumman F-14A Tomcat of Fighter Squadron 2 (VF-2) "Bounty Hunters" and one from VF-1 "Wolfpack";
  • a Grumman A-6A Intruder from Attack Squadron 196 (VA-196) "Main Battery".
