  • Offered for sale ex Louis & Evelyn Franck collection Sotheby's, New York, 5 November 2015: realized $54.010.000 (Hammer Price with Buyer's Premium).
  • Both de la Faille and Hulsker date the painting as done in spring 1888, i.e. shortly after van Gogh arrived in Arles. Ronald Pickvance, however, opted for spring 1889, shortly before leaving for the Saint Rémy asylum, including it amongst the first batch of paintings he sent his brother Theo from Saint Rémy in July 1889 after returning to Arles to collect his spring paintings that year.
