| Description | This row of buildings in Over-the-Rhine hasn't yet been fully restored, with the white building and tall red building in the middle of the row appearing to be vacant, and the Joseph House having the rear of its facility on this street, complete with a largely closed-up storefront. However, the contrast between these buildings and ones in my other recent posts shows just how much of an impact the restoration of these structures makes on their appearance and the perception of the neighborhood as a whole. The revitalization of Over-the-Rhine isn't without its challenges, such as displacement of long-time low-income residents, but many of the buildings being renovated were previously vacant for many, many years. As the revitalization continues, the neighborhood will become a very vibrant and desirable place to be, much like it was in the 19th Century. |
