| Description | These neglected and abandoned structures in upper Over-the-Rhine front Vine Street at its intersection with Clifton Avenue. Both across the street and further up the two hills on both Vine Street and Clifton Avenue are dozens more such buildings, which offer a good location midway between the Uptown and Downtown employment centers, but also remain neglected and/or abandoned. Several of these structures date to the mid-to-late 19th Century, but there are a few that were built as late as the 1920s or 1930s in this area, most of which are in need of substantial renovation, and many of which are for sale. Hopefully these buildings will get the attention they deserve soon. Another interesting feature of this intersection are a set of public steps that head up Mount Auburn from the East side of Vine Street, one of many such sets of steps in this area of the city that connect the hills to the downtown basin. |
