Description
English: Rood cross in Visnums kyrka, Kristinehamn, Sweden, dated ca 1300. Brought from the oldest church on the site. In the background, the altarpiece from 1745, possibly by sculptor Isac Schullström, picturing Christ on the cross flanked by the Virgin Mary and Saint John. On the left, Moses holding the law and on the right Aron, dressed in the priestly breastplate. Above them the resurrected Christ the King.
Svenska: Medeltida triumfkrucifix av trä i Visnums kyrka, Kristinehamn, daterat till 1300-talet. Flyttat till kyrkan från tidigare kyrkor på platsen. I bakgrunden en altaruppsats från 1745 som tillskrivs bildhuggaren Isac Schullström. Kalvariegruppen med Kristus på korset, Maria och Johannes flankeras av Moses med lagen och Aron. Ovanför dem den uppståndne Kristus konungen.
