Description
English: The outer shell of a volcano barnacle, Tetraclita rubescens, is a conical, red-colored, highly-ribbed protection for the soft bodied barnacle (arthropod) living inside. Barnacles are cemented in their shells on their heads, extending their legs into the water to feed.
