Español: Esperanza a la vista
Más de mil millones de personas no pueden ver bien, porque no tienen acceso a las gafas. Más de 3 de cada 4 de los discapacitados visuales del mundo lo son de forma evitable. ¿Qué se puede hacer para detener este hecho desmesurado? En primer lugar, armarse con los datos de prevalencia de su país y la información del sistema de salud ocular: el número de personal de salud ocular capacitado, los planes de su país para hacer frente a la ceguera. La reciente resolución de la Asamblea Mundial de la Salud para la salud ocular, marca el siguiente gran hito para la salud ocular mundial. Con el compromiso político de tomar medidas para hacer del cuidado de los ojos una parte integral de la Cobertura Universal de Salud (UHC) y para implementar un "cuidado de los ojos integrado y centrado en las personas" existe #HopeInSight. Este Día Mundial de la Vista, encontremos las soluciones para asegurar que todo el mundo, en todas partes, tenga acceso a la vista. Prometamos difundir el mensaje de #HopeInSight.English: Hope In Sight
More than a billion people cannot see well, because they don’t have access to glasses. Over 3 out of 4 of the world’s vision impaired are avoidably so. What can be done to arrest this unconscionable fact? First, arm yourself with your country’s prevalence data and Eye Health system information–the number of trained eye health personnel, your country’s plans to tackle blindness. The recent World Health Assembly resolution for eye health, marks the next major mile stone for global eye health. With political commitment to take action to make eye care an integral part of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and to implement ‘integrated people-centred eye care’ there is #HopeInSight. This World Sight Day, let’s find the solutions to ensure that everyone, everywhere has access to sight. Let’s pledge to spread the message of #HopeInSight. |
