Description
English: Statspolitiet (STAPO, WW2 Norwegian Nazi Police) helmet 1942–45. Eagle-and-suncross| emblem similar to the party emblem of Nasjonal Samling (NS), Quisling's Norwegian nazi/fascist party 1933 – 1945, later symbol for the Norwegian collaborationist government. From the exhibitions in the Arquebus War History Museum (Norwegian: Arquebus krigshistorisk museum) in Tysvær, Norway, a regional museum focusing on the German occupation of Norway during the Second World War. Photo taken in June 2020.
Norsk bokmål: Norsk militærhjelm M1931 av svensk modell som hjelm for Statspolitiet 1942–45. Dekal (hjelmmerke) på sidene med «solørn» (NS-ørnen), Nasjonal Samlings partimerke med solkors og ørn/ravn/skarv, i en eikekrans brukt som symbol for den norske staten (de tyskkontrollerte NS-myndighetene).
  • Arquebus: NS-HJELMER: Flere NS-organisasjoner var oppsatt med hjelm hvis de var i strid. I Norge hadde både politiet og Hirden utlevert hjelm. Dette var norske hjelmer påsatt NS-emblem med ørn og solkors. På østfronten hadde de stridende frontkjempere utlevert ordinært tysk utstyr, og bare merkene på jakkene gav indikasjon på norsk nasjonalitet. De benyttet hjelmer med Waffen-SS-emblem. Her viser vi disse to hjelmene, en NS politihjelm fra politiet i Haugesund under okkupasjonen og en Waffen-SS-hjelm som kommer fra distriktet.
Fra utstillingene i Arquebus krigshistorisk museum i Tysvær kommune i Rogaland. Samlingene omfatter gjenstander fra den tyske okkupasjonen av Norge under andre verdenskrig 1940–1945. Bildet er tatt i juni 2020.
