Deutsch: Das Wandersmann-Denkmal von 1813 am Wiesbadener Kreuz über der Bundesautobahn 66 bei Hofheim-Wallau, Ansicht von Westen. Es handelt sich um einen Sandstein-Obelisk mit dreistufigem Sockel Die Inschrift in lateinischer Sprache auf dem Sockel erinnert an die Fertigstellung der Chaussee, deren Verlauf heute die Autobahn folgt, und an den Bauherrn, Herzog Friedrich August von Nassau. Ursprünglich handelte es sich um ein Brunnendenkmal mit einem bronzenen Löwenkopf als Wasserspeier und einem Brunnentrog. Der Löwenkopf ist in den letzten Jahren durch Vandalismus abhanden gekommen. Er wurde aus seiner Verankerung heraus gebrochen. Seine Umrisse sind an der helleren Farbe des Sandsteins erkennbar. |
