Georg Thomas Leonhardt Dos, churbayer. Rath und Landschaftskassier,
Johann Jacob Bernhardt Dos, churbayer. Rath und
Georg Joseph Anton Dos, churbayer. Hofkammerrath, Gebrüder,
erhielten ein Reichsadelsdiplom d.d. Wien 22. Juni 1740. In Bayern ausgeschrieben 2. Dec. 1741.

Wappen: In B. eine von 2 g. Sternen begleitete r. Spitze, darin g-bewehrter s. Adler. Gekr. Helm: wachsendes s. Einhorn zwischen zwei b. Flügeln. Decken: b. g. r. s. beiderseits vermischt.

Doß, Toß, eine ursprünglich aus Schweden stammende Familie, aus welcher der Rath und Landschaftskassier D. nebst seinen Brüdern, Georg Thomas Leonhardt, Joh. Jakob Bernhard u. Josef Bernhard Anton, von K. Karl VI. am 22. Juni 1740 geadelt wurde.

Demgegenüber beschreibt Neues allgemeines Deutsches Adels-Lexicon, im Vereine mit mehreren Historikern herausgegeben von Prof. Dr. Ernst Heinrich Kneschke, Zweiter Band, Leipzig Friedrich Voigt 1860, S. 559 books.google (Stichwort Doss, Thoss) das Wappen wie folgt:
