Summary[edit]

Description

By Laith Mcgregor (2010)

Laith McGregor’s imagery focused on portraiture and an elusive search for a ghostly figure that once haunted the artist as a child. A collage of familiar and unfamiliar faces adorned the bridge to unfold a fictitious world. They are connected, distorted and loomed. Ghosts, phantoms and apparitions appeared. The portraits have no particular identity, rather, they act as mediators, looking both old and new. The huge profiles acted as centurions and guardians and also implied an historical allegory for a collaged past of varying cultures and identities.
