Auf einem Podest sitzende Britannia und stehende Athena, links und rechts weibliche Figuren mit Merkurstab und Schlüssel, darüber Engel mit Kreuz und Kranz. Aufschrift auf Podest und im Abschnitt.

Kommentar: Nach seinem Studium in Cambridge wurde William Wilberforce (geb. 24.8.1759 in Kingston upon Hull, gest. 29.7.1833 in Chelsea) 1780 als Abgeordneter ins britische Unterhaus gewählt. Er vertrat eine Reform der Sitten und die Beendigung des Sklavenhandels. Gemeinsam mit William Pitt beantragte er 1789 auf einer Parlamentssitzung die Abschaffung des Sklavenhandels. Ergebnis der Bestrebungen war die Annahme eines Gesetzes gegen den Sklavenhandel. Er starb am 29. Juli, drei Tage nach Abschaffung der Sklaverei in Großbritannien.
