Description
Deutsch: Der Schönbrunnersteig verbindet das Tal der Schwarza beim Weichtal bzw. Weichtalhaus mit dem Großen Höllental der Rax im Süden von Niederösterreich. Er ist benannt nach seinem bekanntesten Teil, der Schönbrunnerstiege, einer Wegebefestigung in Form einer Leiter mit (nach Verlängerung im unteren Teil) 169 Trittstufen. Der Steig selbst weist einige weitere Stellen mit Sicherungen auf, führt nach der Stiege eben bis zur Fahrstraße im Großen Höllental selbst. Der Schönbrunnersteig wurde angelegt, weil der untere Teil des Großen Höllentals als Teil des Wasserschutzgebietes der 1. Wiener Hochquellenwasserleitung gesperrt wurde, auf diese Weise die Sperre umgangen werden konnte und ein Zugang zu den Klettersteigverbindungen im Großen Höllental möglich blieb.
