Summary[edit]
DescriptionWeighing machine at Uxbridge Station.jpg |
English: 7 April 2013. Metropolitan line platform, Uxbridge Station.
Antiques usually leave me cold. My partner Zena enjoys the TV programme Antiques Roadshow. But it bores me. Even the toe-curling bits when people try to hide their disappointment that Auntie Mildred's 'heirloom' vase is worthless and probably came from an Oxfam charity shop. Which doesn't want it back - thanks for offering. But there's an exception. Old stuff still in its original location is often fascinating. This weighing machine isn't functional; which is a shame. Not that we still have any of Britain's huge, worn, discoloured, lovely old pennies to feed it. __________________________________________ § Aerial view of Uxbridge tube Station I took these photos. § Website Penny Machines about British coin-operated slot machines.. § Here's a short video of a retro-style machine which caught my eye.
