Español: Diagrama de la teoría del plasma germinal de August Weismann. El material hereditario, el germoplasma, está confinado a las gónadas. Las células somáticas (del cuerpo) se desarrollan de nuevo en cada generación a partir del plasma germinal.
English: Diagram of August Weismann's germ plasm theory. The hereditary material, the germ plasm, is confined to the gonads. Somatic cells (of the body) develop afresh in each generation from the germ plasm.
