Tragisch: Das 1939 schon 25 Jahre alte Welta-Werk in Freital hatte den 2. Weltkrieg zunächst gut überstanden. 1945 wurde es zunächst von den Sowjets demontiert, das wieder aufgebaute Werk aber im gleichen Jahr enteignet.

Somit waren die (VEB) Welta-Kamera-Werke Freital 1946 eine der ersten volkseigenen Betriebe Sachsens. Man nahm zuerst die Produktion der Vorkriegs-Rollfilm-Weltax und der Kleinbild-Welti wieder auf. Die Welti I bekam 1953 eine neue Oberkappe und hieß dann „Welti Ic“.

Meine hat ein Tessar und einen Vebur-Verschluss und macht einen sehr sauber verarbeiteten Eindruck. Man kann auch durchaus Ähnlichkeiten mit einer Kodak Retina feststellen.

Folgende bemerkenswerte Eigenheiten möchte ich noch hervorheben: Beim Zuklappen stellt sich das Objektiv auf „unendlich“ zurück. Nach jeder Aufnahme muss man den Auslöseknopf für Transportsperre niederdrücken, sonst kann man den Film nicht weiter transportieren: ein sicherer Schutz vor Doppelbelichtungen! Am Sucher befindet sich ein verstellbarer Ring für den Parallaxenausgleich bei Nahaufnahmen. Auf der Rückseite ist eine Tiefenschärfetafel befestigt.

Alles in allem eine handliche Klappkamera für 24x36 mm, die ich gerne in die Hand nehme.
