Frequency of "West-Eurasian" associated ancestry (human genetics) old world version

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Map of percentage of people with West-Eurasian* ancestry, based on genome analyses and split time estimations as well as shared drift. Old world version!
  • The very concept of 'one' single "West-Eurasian people" is contested. "West-Eurasian" itself is not a geographical or ethnic accurate term, given the fact that the borders between various regions of Eurasia are historical, cultural and political more than physical, and that people originating from ancient or modern "West-Eurasia" may not identify as such.
  • This is NOT a map of the "Caucasoid" race, just an "West-Eurasian ancestry" map, showing the percentage derived from ancient and modern West-Eurasians or samples associated with this specific cluster of human diversity, and not necessarily similar to contemporary Western Eurasian peoples of today (e.g. French, Libanese etc.).
  • To sum it up all, generally conservative criteria are taken: the geographical criterion (origin or descent from ancient or modern West-Eurasian associated reference samples). Next to this, genome analyses to get more detail about the specific frequency, of alleles associated or common among proper West-Eurasians, as such this frequency does not infer a distinct genetic ancestry but the frequency of alleles common among various West-Eurasian populations (French, Iraqi, Moroccan, Armenians, etc.).
