The building was designed as West Park Congregational Church by Lockwood and Mawson, and completed in 1861-1862. Showing the Morphet window at the base of the tower. William Horatio Morpeth Morphet (1862 - July 27 1928) was an estate agent and auctioneer who lived at Greystones, St George's Road, Harrogate. He married Kate Whitfield (1866–1937) in 1895. His funeral service was on 30 July at West Park Congregational Church, and he is buried at Harlow Hill Cemetery. The dedication says, "To the glory of God and in memory of Horatio Morphet and Kate his wife." The quotation "O come let us sing unto the Lord" is from Psalm 95. The panel shows David with his harp. | ||
