Summary[edit]

Description
English: Letter from Lord Farrer as regards Westwood Hunting Lodge, County Surrey, England
Date
Source

Email from a cousin in Surrrey, England. as follows: I obtained the letter from Normandy Historians local History society which covers Westwood.

One of their members Jack Kinder co wrote a book entitled Westwood History of a Surrey estate.

The letter was found amongst paperwork given by the Coussmaker family to the Surrey records office in Woking Surrey.

I think Mr Potter was researching Westwood history on behalf of Colonel Coussmaker who owned Westwood.

Normandy Historians have a very good website just google it.

Attached a letter from Surrey History Centre that did some research for me.

I have a copy of the taxation letter for John Farrar that they refer to it is in old English and I cannot interpret it

Licensing[edit]

Public domain

The author died in 1940, so this work is in the public domain in its country of origin and other countries and areas where the copyright term is the author's life plus 80 years or fewer.

You must also include a United States public domain tag to indicate why this work is in the public domain in the United States. Note that a few countries have copyright terms longer than 80 years: Mexico has 100 years and Jamaica has 95 years. This image may not be in the public domain in these countries, which moreover do not implement the rule of the shorter term.

This work was never published prior to January 1, 2003, and is currently in the public domain in the United States because it meets one of the following conditions:

  • it is an anonymous work, a pseudonymous work, or a work made for hire, and it was created before 1904.

The above provisions are contained in 17 U.S.C. § 303. See also this page for more information.

What is the status of this image. There seems to be a consensus on the village pump that it is legal to use

There are some instructions below from Ogrebot which I don't understand I am told to upload it again, but the next remark takes me to a page which I interpret as I can't.

Also How do I upload it again? Do I have to upload it again? Can I use it?Willl I get an error that this is the still marked for deletion. How does it become "unmarked" how can I use it? How will I know? https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Westwood_-_Letter_from_Lord_Farrer_1930.jpg Very confused here. Thank you Alvanhholmes (talk) 04:50, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
