Sabato 6 maggio 2023 dalle ore 18.00 Palazzo Rovito, Corso Umberto I, Ugento - sede della Biblioteca di Comunità Ugento inaugurazione della mostra fotografica dell'edizione pugliese di Wiki Loves Monuments, il più grande concorso fotografico al mondo, giunto alla 12° edizione e interamente dedicato ai beni culturali, con l'obiettivo di valorizzarli sul web. Le fotografie in mostra a partire dal 6 maggio e fino al 4 giugno, sono state selezionate tra moltissimi scatti. Nel 2022, infatti, Wiki Loves Puglia ha visto la partecipazione di 116 fotografi, tra dilettanti e professionisti, che hanno immortalato per ben 1838 volte i monumenti pugliesi. Tutte le fotografie, diventate bene comune, sono disponibili liberamente online..

L'iniziativa, rientra nel progetto "Sistema dei Beni Museali e Culturali della Città di Ugento" promosso da Imago coop sociale e selezionato, insieme al Parco archeologico di Sibari, le Biblioteche civiche torinesi, la Biblioteca Lazzerini di Prato, il Museo civico insubrico di storia naturale e il Museo etrusco romano di Trevignano Romano, nel bando musei, archivi e biblioteche, promosso da Wikimedia Italia in collaborazione con ICOM Italia e Creative Commons Italia.
