Johan David Christian Brorson (1795-1874) had a law degree and was employed at the national Danish lottery, Tallotteriet. Bendz also portrayed Brorson's (second) wife Charlotte Louise, née Lund. Brorson's first wife had died in 1824, so this painting was probably made after that date. Her portrait was sold in the same lot. geni.com.
