Description
English: Modern-day substation at the bottom of the southeast corner of the Gun Hill Road Bridge Williams Bridge Metro-North Railroad station on the Metro-North Harlem Line in the Williamsbridge section of The Bronx, New York City. This shot was taken from the extension of the Wassaic-bound platform under the bridge, which still leads to nowhere. Previously, this was the site of the former New York Central Railroad station house and parking was available from the southbound on-ramp of the Bronx River Parkway, which had two way traffic from Gun Hill Road to the parking lot until the 1990s. That portion of the ramp was named Newell Street, a local street which pre-dated the existence of the parkway.
