Wind turbines are windmills that convert wind energy into electricity. In America, they supplement energy generated by burning coal, natural gas, and other means. New wind turbines have been installed in numerous places throughout America and other countries in recent decades. Unfortunately, they are ugly, mar the landscape, and kill birds. The contour line-like disturbed areas in the forests are old, mined-out, Pennsylvanian-aged coal horizons.
