Description
Deutsch: Nachbildung einer Wasserleitung aus dem 14. Jh. Trinkwasserversorgung am Lübecker Burghügel. Das Original der Holzwasserleitung wurde während der archäologischen Ausgrabung 2015 im Bereich des Europäischen Hansemuseum geborgen. Ab 1300 wurde Holzwasserleitungen benutzt. Die hölzernen Leitungen wurden zumeist aus großen Eichenstämmen gezimmert, miteinander verbunden und im Erdboden verlegt. Bis ins 19. Jh. wurden die Bewohner der Klosteranlage damit mit Frischwasser versorgt.
English: Replica aqueduct from the 14th century, drinking water supplies on the Castle Hill in Lübeck, European Hansemuseum. From the year 1300 onwards, water was brought into the city using wooden aqueducts. The wooden conduits were mostly constructed from hollowed-out oak trunks, joined together and laid in the ground. In this way, fresh water was supplied to the inhabitants of the friary complex on the the Lübeck Castle Hill until the 19th century.
